ABOUT THE AREA:
In the Fall of 1915 government
surveyors noted a cabin and a small cache on the
property where River Bend is today. It was one of only
seven dwellings noted in the entire township. Could
someone have selected this site for the warm southern
exposure? Or maybe for the abundant salmon runs? Or
maybe to escape winter's cold Matanuska winds? Or maybe
they loved Pioneer Peak towering straight in front of
them and when they could go most anywhere it was the
most beautiful site they could find? The definitive
answer is lost to history, but maybe a discriminating
buyer like you seeks similar conditions.
In the southern end of
the beautiful Springer area south of Palmer, River Bend
perches on a 50 foot bluff. The extraordinary natural
setting also offers many conveniences.
Within five minutes of
River Bend are schools, shopping, golf course, airport,
hockey rink, library, fire station to name a few. It is
a six minute simple route to the Glenn/Parks interchange
which makes it an easy commute to Anchorage. It is
just seven minutes to the new hospital.
One feature that makes
the area so unique is that immediately to the south is
more than a mile wide flood plain which not only buffers
River Bend from view obstructions and noises, but also
provides thousands of recreation acres at the foot of
the development. At the foot of the bluff is a ground
water fed salmon spring that flows year round and the salmon
run from late summer through fall.
