“Nothing like it…anywhere…at any price” sounds like an audacious claim, but I will retract it if someone proves me wrong. When I first stood in the trees on the bluff at River Bend I was taken in by the grandeur and beauty highlighted by Pioneer Peak right smack in my face. I noted the ground water fed clear fresh water spring at the base of the bluff and was amazed when I first saw the water teeming with salmon. I was amazed not only because were there so many salmon, but in the shallow clear water you could easily see and hear the salmon from the top of the fifty foot high bluff.
I wanted to develop a community environment at River Bend that enhanced the extraordinary natural features, allowed for enjoyment of the Alaska lifestyle and just be a place you’d like to be. I envisioned neighbors and friends walking together along trails around the duck pond, along the bluff and along the salmon spring. I envisioned Alaskans leaving directly from their homes by foot or machine on designated trails to enjoy thousands of recreation acres. I envisioned homes tucked in mature woods with fantastic views. I envisioned landscaped street corridors. I envisioned a community that feels tucked away, yet still be only two minutes to a golf course, three minutes to an airport and six minute to the Park/Glenn interchange.
It’s funny, but throughout the construction and even now, I find myself thinking up reasons to go to River Bend. One day it dawned on me…I just like being there. I think you will too.
